Happy Birthday Sailor!

Today is The Sailor's 28th Birthday!
In honor of said birthday, I am looking to find my baby brother a wife date.
Bubba looking amazing at my wedding with the flower girl!
First let me say this, he has no intention of asking out any girl I send his way! However, if she is going to be my future sister in-law there are requirements. I mean, I picked a good one to be his brother in-law! They are practically BFF!! I want the same! So really, this is one of those, I am giving you this gift because I want it moments!

So Ladies here are the requirements.
You must love to eat! The boy is a chef...picky eaters need not apply! Plus, the Crazy Lady will make you eat every time you come to visit so get ready!
You must love wine. (NOT love to whine.) The Chef in him lives to pair food and beverage!
You are going to need to be able to clean the kitchen... I mean, he is going to cook all the meals... you gotta clean. Plus, they didn't teach him that at culinary school!
He loves clothes so be prepared to have a partner in shopping... score, right!
And here is the most important requirement... you must be a Sooners fan. He has a habit of bringing home Oklahoma State and Texas fans and this simply will not do. I cannot be friends with these girls. I refuse to allow my future nieces and nephews to wear any shade of orange. OH... the thought makes me ill.

So... if you fit the bill please read on...

This is my brother... And he is AWESOME!!
Recital 2002.

He knows his way around a dance studio!! Always a plus... and he can swing dance ladies!!
Recital 2002.

He may live in Texas (gag me) at the moment but he wants to move back to the ocean...
Key Largo, FL  Jan. 2005

He loves his Sooners but dislikes all Dallas teams... so Maves/Cowboys fans need not apply.
First OU Football Game of the 2004 Season.
Who let me dye my hair that color? YUCK!
While he didn't enlist in the Navy until 2007, he has been talking about it since High School.

He works hard and plays harder! Mai Tai anyone?
Hawaii December 2009
In high school he would drive to his Gege's house just to check on her and possibly cook for her... You know your heart is melting....

His ship looked like this at one point on his last deployment!! Be happy he has shore duty!

Our Wedding Party!

Welcome to Wedding Wednesdays!
My one day a week to gush about all things wedding!

There are a few things I would like to keep traditional at the wedding but not many. Sooo, as you can guess, the wedding party will not be "traditional".

Meet my MAN of Honor.
After Coco's ship came in from Hawaii Dec. 2009
And Stud Muffin's Best Man.
Corey & Addison picking apples.
Stud Muffin and I decided to go with just two people in our wedding party for several reasons.
1- It's a destination wedding and we do not want anyone to feel obligated to make their vacation our wedding. While we would love to have everyone there, we don't want people to feel forced!
2- I don't have any sisters and the practice of the brother standing on the opposite side has always disturbed me. He is my brother and I think he should stand with me!
3- One less thing for me to pick out and try to please everyone! This alleviates the pressure of picking a dress in the color, style and price range that suits all my friends. I just know that would have stressed me beyond belief!

I love the fact that our wedding party is going to be so intimate.

My brother has already asked if he can get dressed with Stud Muffin and the other guys. Hairspray apparently makes him ill. Or maybe its the squealing girls. Who knows! But, of course he can get ready with the dudes! Now... when should we tell him he gets to hold my bouquet?

Happy Birthday Coco Kitten!

Happy Birthday to my favorite brother and best friend!!
Coco Kitten turns 27 today!! Can you believe it? Makes me feel super old!!

Here we are in June 1990 at the 1st SCD Recital!! Lovin' the outfit Coco is wearing with so much pattern! ;)

At LA Dance Force in January 1995! Rehearsing our routine "Jurassic Park". So cool that Coco and I were both in the first SCD Routine to win the big 1st Place Overall Award!!

Here we are in Coco Kitten's room at the SAE House before the home opener 2004. (Ignore my nasty brown-ish colored hair. It was a bad phase) Notice the Conch Republic Flag in the background... that is where I am getting married!! Not that stupid Texas Flag! Ugh!!

This should have been such a great trip... January 2005. We are happy here because we have yet to play the National Championship against USC. :(

Last summer at Cousin Ryan's Wedding with the soon to be birthday girl Gege!! Notice how Coco's attire has gotten SO MUCH BETTER!!

December 2009!! Coco's Naval Ship came home!! Great day and great trip!

Happy Birthday Bubba!! I love you!!

More Hawaii...

Well, we had a great time in Hawaii. Wish it had been a longer trip but I will just have to see the other islands next time!
We got to see the USS Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor. Really, what happened that day is insane. Watching my brother take it all in was something to see as well.

We had some lovely poolside drinking time. Don't you think that everything should be served in a pineapple? It was AWESOME!!

We did some snorkling. It was a great time until I decided to act all awesome and get salt water in my eyes. The salt water sun screen mixture that I continued to rub in was not fun. Nothing a little shower on board the boat couldn't fix though!
Did some dolphin & whale watching. I took video of that so when I figure out how to get that on here I will share.

The trip was fantastic. Thank you to my wonderful Mommy & Daddy for helping to make it work out. We had a great time and the best part was that I was with all the people I love!!

ALOHA!

As many of you Dancing readers know, we took a little trip to Hawaii the week before Christmas to see my dear sweet brother's ship come in. It was a fantastic trip!

We arrived at Pearl Harbor on December 15 to see Coco's ship come in to port. (This was also Pawpaw's 81st birthday.) Once we were past all the security we found the tents to make little "welcome home" gifts for the boys. This is Coco's pillow case that Mom had sent out before we arrived. I like it!! She thinks it looks a bit special.
After we got a bit settled I started my usual people watching routine. All of these wives, mothers and children anxiously waiting the arrival of their husband or father. I cannot imagine. There were six babies born to sailors wives while they were deployed. Can you imagine? One little boy was born 3 days after they left. He is 6 months old!! God bless that family for their sacrifice!

We then got to stand on another ship to see the Crommelin come in! It was great. The Navy Band was playing patriotic tunes the entire time and it was such a beautiful moment.

Can you imagine living on that thing? I would die!! I mean, I barely survive our 450 square foot apartment! Good thing Coco doesn't seem to mind living with that many people.

Of course the best part of the day was when he finally got off the ship and we got to hug him!! So happy he is now home. Beware... he is on his way to tear up Oklahoma for the New Year!!
